Horus is the longest member of the Majick Feathers Flock. Horus was about a year old when she was adopted and was a parent raised bird.
Horus was purchased by Melissa & Nathan around 2001 from a Queensland breeder when they lived in Brisbane. When they adopted her, she was supposed to be a male (hence the name). It wasn’t until about a month later that she was confirmed as a female, but by then the name had stuck.
FUN FACTS
Horus was hatched / raised with a calcium deficiency and due to this her mental development and physical strength were affected. She is a happy bird but does take longer to learn and grasp concepts than the other birds in the flock. Horus is harness trained and has enjoyed going out and about with Melissa & Nathan for most of her life. She can recall & target but only when SHE is in the mood for it.
Horus is a sweet bird who likes to hang out and observe, she does not like to be touched or patted even by Melissa & Nathan, except on the very rare occasion when she decides she wants one from her humans. She will squeak when she has had enough attention, which gained her the nickname SQUEEK. If she is forced to do something she does not want to do, she will normally hit you with her beak and “Squeek” but if you persist, she will give a pinch type of bite.
Horus is generally MUMMY to all the birds in the flock and gets along with everyone. Most of the time she is just content to sit and watch whats going on and joins in when she decides to.
She, like all of the birds in Majick Feathers Flock, has the ability to decide what she likes and doesn’t like and her interactions are catered to what she is comfortable with doing.
