Woody

Sulpher-Crest Cockatoo

Male - Hatched aprox 1979

Woody is a Sulpher-Crest Cockatoo, he is the oldest member of the flock being hatched around the year 1979, arriving to us on 25/03/2022

He was adopted by Melissa & Nathan from All Parrot Rescue & Adoption in Queensland after Nathan saw a post to re-home him and then a number of other posts months later still trying to find him his forever home as it seemed that no one wants an “old” rescue.

We have some of Woody’s history where he was a much loved companion until his carer passed away and was taken in by the daughter . Unfortunately due to some health issues the daughter was no longer able to home him and he was passed to All Parrot Rescue & Adoption and now he is part of our flock.

From the history we have of Woody, he has not been trained but has been socialised to a degree with people. Woody is going to need time and patience to bring out his full personality and to feel comfortable in his new environment. He has already started to make friends with Capone & Kichi but is “wary” of humans at this stage.

Woody is unable to fly as he was raised in a smaller cage that didn’t allow him to fly which has possibly affected his muscle strength. He can glide and has full use of his wings but not the strength to fly. He does get around very well by climbing and running on the ground. We look forward to working with Woody and giving him an enriched & full life.
