Luna

Luna is a Scarlet Macaw and the youngest member of the flock. She was adopted into the flock on 15/12/2021 & she hatched on 03/10/2021. Luna is still just a baby and is still being hand fed by Melissa and Nathan. Apollo is always trying to get her attention and is infatuated by her, however at this stage he is just a bit to boisterous for her liking.

Currently Luna is starting to figure out her place in the flock and is learning the basics such as recall, step up and station which she is starting to do. Luna LOVES cuddles and is very affectionate. She will allow the public to give her a pat, if her humans say that it is ok.

Luna is also just starting to learn some words. She can say Hello and Apollo and we think she is also saying Luna. Her speech is still not very clear or loud, unlike Apollo’s but she will get there as time goes on – She is still just a baby

As part of the flock Luna is getting out and about and has done a couple of visits to Bunnings as well as being involved in shows. We work at her pace and comfort level, and we also keep bringing new experiences into her world.

Luna is harness trained and has begun the initial steps to becoming a Free-Flying bird. It will be a wonderful experience to see the colorful sky’s when Luna & Apollo start free-flying together.
